Me on stage at PICNIC 08
Having been at the PICNIC 09 and seeing all the bloggers sitting in the audience sharing their experiences about and impressions from this great event made me think about the way I communicate my consulting services and ideas.
To be honest, the decision is already made. I will move away from my old website and start using this blog to communicate and open the discussion! The world is turning so static pages are ok for the basics, but reacting on news, new concepts, new products and services with comments and thoughts is much more appropriate.
For those who don’t know, I gained blogging experience for more than a year now with my enduro.blog.de, which is suprisingly successful little blog I started in July ’08 and reflects the second life I lead in the enduro universe. The enduro.blog.de experience really showed me the way, it was and is a proof that Prof. Bolz is right about ”authenticity” being the new currency in communication. Interested in Bolz’ thoughts on this? Here’s a great speach – in German though: Studieren 2.0
Some of you might have noticed that the picture up here was taken at this year’s PICNIC. I took it with my BlackBerry during Jeffrey Hayzlett’s (Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of the Eastman Kodak Company) great presentation. He was talking about how Kodak changed in the past years. And yes, it was a dramatic change driven by pain. Some other larger brands should study the Kodak case closely – there’s a lot to learn!
One of the lessons is that Jeff really recongnized the value of interactive and especially social media. He’s been called “one of the top ten executives that tweet.”
